Simon Jacob Memorial School Career Fair 2017

K-Net Services was invited by Ennis Jacob, Education Director for Webequie Education, to attend their 22nd annual career fair on May 24, 2017. First Nation SchoolNet's Program Admin, Angie Morris used this time to meet with local education personnel to discuss connectivity options and meet one another after working electronically together all these years. K-Net used this opportunity at the career fair to provide information on programs such as First Nation SchoolNet. It was also a chance to highlight the telecommunications services we provide to communities across the province. Locals were interested in information to the latest 3G Data Services that Webequie could access on their cell phones.
Career highlights at K-Net included; Network Engineer, Computer Technician, Sales & Reception, Database Manager, Cable Plant Technician, Video Conference Tech and Inventory Clerk.   It was a busy afternoon of answering questions and providing information on what and how the internet reaches their communities. It was also a great opportunity to meet & catch up on past Youth ICT Workers.
Thank-you to Ennis Jacob, Paul Quisses and Mary Gardiner for being gracious hosts!
